 Martin Bachmann

Martin Bachmann was born and educated in Switzerland where he graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich with a degree in Natural Sciences. He has 32 years of international oil and gas company experience covering upstream technical, commercial and senior leadership positions in countries including The Netherlands, Turkey, Syria and the UK. After a career with Shell he is a Member of the Board of Directors of Wintershall Holding GmbH since 2009 and is currently in charge of Exploration & Production Europe / Middle East. Mr. Bachmann is married and has two children.

 

Wintershall Holding GmbH, based in Kassel, Germany, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF in Ludwigshafen. The company has been active in the extraction of natural resources for 120 years, and in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas for over 80 years. Wintershall focuses on selected core regions, where the company has built up a high level of regional and technological expertise.
